Borough Market, London Bridge

Welcome to an issue of my blog dedicated to food!

When Daniela and I were living in Surrey Quays, before moving to Singapore, we would usually spend a good part of Saturday mornings having breakfast (espresso & croissant) and shopping at Borough Market.

It used to be a favourite of Jamie Oliver's too, so we figured we were in good company, and indeed saw him on several occasions (had to drag Daniela away!).

So while in London in June we just had to go and repeat our Saturday morning ritual. We went with Jen, a close friend of ours. Jen, with her partner John, kindly put us up in their flat, let us use it as a base throughout out stay and helped us out in so many ways. In the second picture Daniela is on the left, Jen on the right.

Next week I'll do one more posting from our trip to the UK. It will be a collage of photos called special moments. Don't miss it!

Thanks for coming. I am very much motivated to continue the blog as a result of feedback I get. Don't forget, you can leave comments if you want.

Love

Alan

Plymouth Hoe

Welcome back to my blog. Thanks for coming.

This issue is dedicated to Plymouth. Seen in all its summer splendour! Summer 2006 has brought record temperatures and sunny days to the UK. Hopefully it is not over yet. I have been telling people they should come to Singapore to visit us to cool down!

The photos were taken in June while we were there visitng my family. I don't think they need any commentary. Plymouth Hoe is a beautiful place and the Barbican never loses its charm. The sea-water outside pool has been recently renovated and it was a pleasure to see it open again with lots of people using it.

We had a great time in Plymouth with my parents. Daniela's Mum had flown in from Italy and come down with us from London. The World Cup was on and we saw England go out....but Italy, the curse of the Australians, kept going all the way to win the cup! My Great Nephew, Harrison was born....the first male in the family since I was born nearly 51 years ago! Boy is he going to be spoilt! I was very happy to be able to meet him the day after he was born which was also the day before we left Plymouth to return to London.

Next time (in two weeks) I'll post photos of Borough Market at London Bridge. One of our favourite places ever! The connection?......... FOOD! :)

Love
