Brisbane Australia - the City

Hello, a warm welcome and thanks for coming to see my blog.
This is the first posting of photos from our holiday in Australia.

The weather in Brisbane was pretty unsettled but we still managed to get sunny days or sunny parts of days. I loved the water in Brisbane. The Brisbane river is a main attraction. We spent quite a bit of time by it or travelling up and down on it.

The centre is small and you can walk pretty much everywhere.
We stayed with my cousin, Maureen and her husband Jim in an area called Redhill and we could walk into the city very easily. They gave us a fantastic holiday.

I hope you enjoy the pictures of almost always sunny Brisbane.
This first photo is shows the Wheel of Brisbane which opened in August this year.

Next time I'll show you the Gold Coast. See you then.

The steeple belongs to Brisbane City Hall.
It is in danger of sinking. It is suffering
from serious structural, electrical, mechanical,
hydraulic and safety issues and may have to
close permanently, unless it gets lots of money.
We went there for the Brisbane version of the
"Last Night of the Proms" So much fun watching
Aussies and Poms waving their respective flags to
"Land of Hope and Glory".

The casino. Amazing contrast between the
